H-331 and H-332 at work off the Angolian coast
In 2016 Heerema Alliance (NL) and TechnipFMC (FR) closed a large contract involving the engineering, construction, installation (EPCI) and pre-commissioning of the SURF (Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines) assigned by Total E&P Angola as part of the Kaombo project. For this our H-331 and H-332 are used to work on this large scale structure and pipelines. This also ment that both vessels had to be approved bythe Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF).
They started their task in early 2017 and have been carrying large spool, pipelines and other material since, going back and fort between the African coast and the SURF to eventually connect it to the mainland. Using the contructions specially designed by HPA, H-331 and H-332 carry a part of the pipeline to its destination so it can gently be lowered to the bottom of the ocean, which at its deepest point can reach 2000 meters. From there a unmanned ROV takes over to connect the pipelines from a safe distance. After this process our pontons go back and repeat all steps once more.
This project will be finished in the summer of 2018.
